Messrs RAO & CO is a boutique legal firm based in Melaka and Petaling Jaya and it was formed by
Sugandra Rao Naidu on 1.1.2014. Sugandra Rao Naidu was called to the Malaysian Bar on 7.2.2002 and has
been active in practice
since then. The Firm consist of highly skilled and experienced associates who routinely assist
businesses and individuals in diverse litigation matters.
We pride ourselves on understanding and anticipating our clients' needs, and on providing the highest
quality legal services to protect our clients' interests. As a result, we have longstanding

Sugandra Rao Naidu leads the firm. In addition to his LLB (Hons) from University of Malaya he also holds a Master of Laws from the same University. He has been in active litigation practice since he was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in February 2002.
He has been active mainly in civil law practice. To name few he has handled various civil litigations cases among others involving banking and finance law, company law, contract law, tort, employment and industrial disputes, arbitration, personal injury claims, defamation claims, land law, divorce and matrimonial proceedings. He was also appointed by a local government as its panel lawyer and also has been acting for one of the leading car manufacturer as their leading counsel.
His experience in banking and finance includes housing and corporate loan for both conventional and Islamic financing from Public Bank Berhad, Public Islamic Bank Berhad, Malayan Banking Berhad, Maybank Islamic Berhad, Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Hong Leong Islamic Bank Berhad, OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, RHB Bank Berhad, RHB Islamic Bank Berhad and others.
Some of those cases handled by him have been published in local law journals. He was also appointed as an external editor by the publishers of the premier law journal in Malaysia.

Ooi Ai Jia graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Multimedia in the year of 2011.
She was then admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 1.6.2012. She joined as a legal assistant with Messrs Gan Rao & Chuah on 3.6.2012 and she specializes in civil litigation under the guidance of Mr. Sugandra Rao Naidu.

Sarah Shaqeena Abdullah graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in the year of 2014.
She was then admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 21.1.2016. She joined as a legal assistant with Messrs Rao & Co on 22.1.2016 and she specializes in civil litigation.

Noor Munirah Binti Abdullah Sani graduated from the National University of Malaysia with LLB (Hons) degree in 2016.
She was then admitted to practice as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in September 2017. She completed her pupillage and thereafter continued her legal practice both at Messrs Rao & Co. She presently specializes in civil litigation.

Tang Suvine graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Multimedia University, Melaka in the year of 2019.
She then read in the chambers of Mr. Sugandra Rao Naidu at Messrs Rao & Co. On 10.9.2020, she was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. She continued her legal practice at Messrs Rao & Co. She presently specializes in civil litigation.
